Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District Calendar 2026-2027

Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District aligns its neighborhood school boundaries around traditional K–5 elementary, 6–8 middle, and 9–12 high school levels, while Su-Valley and Redington operate as integrated junior/senior high schools. Families locate their assigned attendance zone via the district address lookup tool. Parents can request boundary transfers through ParentVUE, with approvals granted based on school staffing and physical capacity. Boundary-transfer families provide their own travel or access existing stops on established bus routes where seats permit.

When participating in charter school lotteries, families register with their preferred charter first while maintaining their neighborhood campus as secondary. Secondary students can expand their coursework through tuition-free iTech online classes while remaining enrolled at their home school. School calendar dates vary regionally: elementary and secondary students follow separate in-service days, and northern campuses including Talkeetna, Trapper Creek, Willow, and Su-Valley operate on Region 6 calendars.
