Sitka School District Calendar 2026-2027

Sitka School District serves students on the western coast of Baranof Island through traditional elementary, middle, and high schools alongside the REACH Homeschool correspondence program. For students thriving in non-traditional settings, Pacific High School delivers experiential, place-based education within multi-age classrooms. Pacific High students master core graduation standards through individualized learning plans, concluding terms with community portfolio presentations rather than standard written exams.

The district's REACH Homeschool program grants parents curriculum flexibility while providing access to certified teachers based in Sitka, instructional technology, and educational funding for residents of the City and Borough of Sitka. Participating families construct an Individual Learning Plan (ILP), submit quarterly progress reports and work samples, and update the program monthly on student progress. Students identified as at risk check in weekly.
